I joined the school as a parent of three children in 2004, and then joined as a member of staff the same year, and took on the role of Clerk to Governors.

Milland has been my home for 21 years and both my sons attended Hollycombe School. They are now at University with very fond memories of Hollycombe, which provided a happy and positive start to their education.

My professional life has been as an artist and I was a teacher of Art and Design in Secondary schools, Universities and Colleges for over twenty - five years. I now work from my studio at home as a ceramic sculptor; however, education remains very important to me and so I feel privileged to be returning to Hollycombe as a Governor.

I'm really proud to have been the Headteacher at Hollycombe School since September 2017. Hollycombe is a lovely, child-focussed school in a wonderful location. Everyone in the school is determined for every child to be happy at school, to make firm friendships, and achieve high standards in their work.

I qualified as a teacher in 1992 and have worked in London and Hampshire schools; first as a teacher, then as a deputy Headteacher, and subsequently as Headteacher of two schools. I also worked for Ofsted as a Lead Inspector. Recently I've been back in the classroom for two years teaching Reception and Year One which I loved!

I've lived in the local area for nearly twenty years. I'm married to Richard who is a musician, and we have three children who all attended local state schools. In my spare time I love reading and choral singing, and I'm learning to play the flute again (after a gap of 30+ years)

I have been living in Milland for nine years, and have an interest in education, together with a desire to make my skills and experience available to the community.  I have spent the majority of my career working in the aviation industry, latterly as the operations manager for an air ambulance company.  My interests are flying, photography and travel, and I have been fortunate to have been able to travel extensively to many areas of the world.
